Leave some room in your suitcase for art this summer
The Art Dossier on July 31, 2012 with 0 CommentsHotels are now taking the trend of pairing original art with hospitality to the next level.
More and more hotels are working with local artists to decorate their space but now guests will also have the opportunity of purchasing art during their stay.
Hotels such as the Omni Dallas, The Lancaster Arts Hotel in Pennsylvania, and the Renaissance Arts Hotel in New Orleans all feature original works of art that are available for purchase. Just ask the staff.
The art gives these hotels a competitive edge over other accommodations and it allows guests to interact with their temporary living space.
Ed Netzhammer, managing director of the Dallas Omni, notes that his hotel has “more art than a lot of the galleries and museums around the country.”
“It makes it fun and interesting and adds a whole different level of energy to the hotel,” Netzhammer said.
