Lauren Bahr, what’s in your fridge?
Oh the terror of my refrigerator!
In theory, I love to cook and like to keep a fully stocked kitchen. There are edible things in here— the manchego cheese, the grapes, the pickles, the yogurt, the Aloe juice. But on the whole… well, let’s just look at the condiments. There are FORTY-THREE jars of them. Some of them are our roommate’s, and the Siracha and Tapatio are my staples, but I think the rest must be science experiments by now. There’s also so much leftover takeout that needs to be tossed. And there are a few pots and bowls that are totally my bad— miso soup I made weeks ago, rice from a month ago…Clearly we have an issue. I mean, what horrors are being harbored inside those clouded leftovers containers? What is that paper bag just kind of floating in the back there? I have no idea. I’m going to clean right after I finish writing this.
Luckily, this refrigerator madness is a positive sign. I’ve been so happily busy lately. My show just went up on this amazing website Buy Some Damn Art— and this store in Greenpoint called The Perfect Nothing Catalog is going to sell some pieces as well. I’m a freelancer now, and every project I work on seems to give me some new skill that I can apply to my art. I’m really happy with what I’m making at the moment. And the rest of our house is a lot cleaner than our fridge!
This month’s Fridge Fail is also this month’s life win.
