Kids take you through MoMA’s permanent collection with Audio Tour Hack’s ‘MoMA unadulterated’
The Art Dossier on August 9, 2012 with 0 CommentsTaking a page from the folks over at Little Collector who have led kid friendly art tours before, Audio Tour Hack is turning the tables and having the kids lead you.
Audio Tour Hack has organized an unofficial audio tour where kids ages 3 – 10 give their take on some of the works from MoMA’s permanent collection. Kids of course are known for having no filter and are thus capable of giving a more than honest opinion. As a result, the tour is sure to generate some laughs and even some new insights.
The series is called ‘MoMA Unadulterated’ and features works from the likes of Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Roy Lichtenstein. The kids are asked to analyze the art and share their “unique, unfiltered perspectives on such things as composition , the art’s deeper meaning, and why some stuff’s so weird looking”. The result is what Audio Tour Hack hopes will be a fresh and unpretentious take on these now classic pieces of art.
You can download the map and listen to the audio tour on audiotourhack.com. There is also a trailer so you can preview what’s to come. Not near the MoMA? Don’t fret, you can still listen to the kid’s thoughts while looking at some of the works online.
