Kassia Meador started her career as a professional longboarder in Malibu, California. Discovered at the age of 14, she entered her first surf contest, the ROXY Wahine Classic. Kassia won the event, and she continued to climb the rankings in women’s longboarding.

Kassia’s surfing success has given her the opportunity to explore her other talents. Kassia has developed a passion for art and photography and she has had several exhibitions showcasing her work around the world. She is also spends time working on her signature line of wetsuits. You can see the goods here.

Meador most recently collaborated with artist Richard Phillips for Phillips’s third film, First Point (2012) on view through October 20th at Gagosian Gallery in NYC.

This work marks his second collaboration with Lohan and third collaboration with legendary surf filmmaker Taylor Steele. A contemporary film noir, First Point juxtaposes haunting nocturnal imagery with surf sequences in which female pro-surfer Kassia Meador (Lohan’s acknowledged stunt double) and Lohan herself appear.

Next up for Kassia, finishing a film titled FREQUENCIES which she has been working on with Sonny Miller and Bruce Buller. E.S.P is doing all the live sound scores for the film. She also spends a lot of time playing with the meditative sound performance art group UFO 2012.

Kassia is a huge advocate of breast cancer awareness and is involved with the organization Keep a Breast. Learn more about this fantastic foundation here.
